I lost $5000 after saving and working for almost 2years in a day and I can relate to saving without letting yourself have a good life.
I had plans to start taking care of myself and getting the vital things to step up like an apartment, an iPhone because now I'm still using my Android phone of over 5years, household equipments and growing my business but it's been hard since last year because I'm broke and find it hard to feed myself let alone my parents. I can't boast of $1 as mine right now because I'm working hard to clear my debt.
It's so painful and the fact that I have nothing to show from all those years of labor and now being in debt is hard.
You have one life to live, enjoy every moment and the experience that comes with it..

The outsourcing thing is probably only looked down upon by Americans. I’m South African and so much is outsourced here. From nannies, housekeepers, ready made food (not fast food), gardening etc.

That’s so true. I’m Romanian and always trying to get better deals than what is advertised in any store including private shoe stores or furniture store where you don’t deal with big corporations. However on flights never look at cheaper flights because they tend to have more stops and layovers and as a usual traveller to Europe I always do direct flights even if are more expensive.
