Are these companies literally trying to make ugly shoes…? It feels like the worst business model of all time. And yet.. the companies that produce these foot grenades make multi-billion dollar fortunes, fortunes that you can actually invest in.
Since their IPOs, ugly shoe sales, and market caps have blown sky high in a way that no one predicted… or did they? Maybe there’s strategy here…
But in order to figure that out, there were 3 questions I needed answers to
How did bad-looking fashion become so successful? What investment strategy can I take to profit off of the next big ugly shoe? Or is it possible for that next big ugly shoe to come from an incredibly unlikely source: me?

Hey Max – Been a long time since I've written. No more Telework, so not much time at home during the week…except now that I actually have COVID….
Anyhoo…love your insight. The ugly shoe/fashion thing drives me nuts; but always makes me think, "Why the hell didn't I think of that?!?!"
Now from a practical perspective…I see a potentially significant flaw in your weightlifting shoe design. The platform of the sole appears too thick. Most lifters (Adidas, Nike Romaleos, Reebok CrossFit) have a wedge shape (taller at the heel); but are otherwise pretty thin-soled. Why? A sense of stability AND ground contact–especially with overhead lifts like the Snatch. Maybe the pics don't do the "Jim Shoe" justice; but it looks like I'd be lifting wearing platform shoes from the 70s…granted, more stable with the splayed sole….

I do not really like this fashion thing. With all the respect, I cannot help myself but to comment this:
Human consumption is reaching incredible levels, this planet is already at a state when we would need about 1.8 planets just to cover our consumption needs. And here I see another… ehm… sorry for the following… BULLS**T fashionable idea that is completely expendable for human needs. I am absolutely sure that many of those shoes will end up on a huge pile of trash as well as previous fashionable ideas that simply came out of fashion. The worst thing is that these products are usually not even fully used til they are worn out. People just buy them because they are fashionable. And when they are no longer in, they just throw them away.
Stupid, retarded, absolutely mind-wrecking level of aimless and unnecessary consumption. If it were for a different situation, I would not really care. But the recycling process is not efficient enough yet for people to create such products at such a massive scale.
I really apologize for my harsh comment, but I do not see any use in being silent about this.
Please follow through with this idea and attempt to turn this into a legitimate e-commerce brand it would be a fun journey to watch you embark on. Maybe a short update video every few months?
