I Tried My First Link Building Service. Here's How it Went…

Is HARO just another form of link building? Sometimes, yes, that’s all it is. But it doesn’t have to be. We can get so much more out of it if we just treat it a little differently. In this video, I reveal a case study that I started with the awesome people over a Niche Website Builders. It becomes clear why I don’t refer to HARO as link building.

While I don’t agree with or use some of the methods they endorse (link building), I see that they’re doing a great job of many things. And I’ve gained a new appreciation for HARO. If you want to see what their HARO service is all about, here’s a non-affiliate link to their service (https://www.nichewebsite.builders/done-for-you-haro/).

  1. Thanks for watching! What sort of experience have you had with HARO? I I’ve found it to be really time consuming, so I love the idea of a done-for-you service.

Niche Website Builders almost has it dialed in. I’d just love to see it go beyond link building to real authority building. And for that I think their team needs a way to get the site owners more involved… which negates some of the value of done-for-you. I think they’ll find the right balance!

  2. Link building can actually be a powerful authority accelerator if done correctly. Using the appropriate methods for the proper use cases. I don't suggest completely writing it off at all. But you can focus on it at later stages.

  3. Wow I have been going back and forth on using their HARO service and since the site I want to push is just one I want to sell soon and need a high da ….. you have convinced me to move forward with my purchase. I’m sure that wasn’t the goal but thanks for the honest review….
Now I’m still on the fence for joining project 24 I think I look at the buy button once a week. In the back I’m my mind I think I’m hoping for a pop up that says you have ten mins the price is 50% off right now is the only chance blah blah blah. The I’ll be like dang it you got me. Or one day I just hit the dang button and add my name to the list of success stories

  4. To be frank, that service looks like it was written by someone who is ESL. Likely VAs from PH and Niche Website Builders margins are disgusting (I know because I run a HARO service). People who do proper HARO actually pitch with proper English and do pitches based on research for the questions they're being asked (with proper grammar with facts and data to back-up claims).

  5. What is ur take on sky scrapper technique by brian dean ? If link building is not the one u recommend, how can a new blog builds authority? No matter how good a content it, Google as an engine counts off page seo as well which is link building . Isnt it?

What are ur thoughts for Pat flyns and Adam’s success now and both recommends building links… as per my experience, pbn links can destroy the ranking but natural link building is still viable…

  6. So they can write articles and build an entire site for me. But if their HARO/backlink strategy is just to make stuff up, and they don't care where the backlinks come from, do I really WANT them to write articles or build a site for me? Why would I think the quality would be any better, for a much more difficult and time consuming task? No thanks. I need to trust the content on my site.

  7. I agree 100% with you on link building! We've had our site/podcast since 2013 and yeah, it takes time to build but worth it. The flip side of this is being a site that receives so many requests for backlinks just like this. Nope.

  8. I'm constantly amazed by the regular advice to "fake it" in the blogging world. It's people with strong morals who have continued success. It ain't even just about business, you gotta shoot straight with people.

  9. Excellent video…. I always stick with the simple create good content with quotable stats to draw in backlinks. Not sure I'd pay for a service still but interesting experiment.
On the topic of SEO, I've noticed IS has been quiet so far on May Google Core Update. Has affected a lot of people. Are you planning on doing a video on that some point soon guys?

  10. One important thing to notice: The so called domain authority number by ahrefs or MOZ etc, is just useless. a) these numbers can be 'gamed' and b) those number have nothing to do with how Google rates your authority (because Google won't reveal their ratings (anymore))

  11. Well, I’m a P24 member as well and support the no link building strategy. However, guys like Adam Enfroy make 300k per month (right 300k, not 30k) with ONE blog. And this would not be possible at all without heavy link building! Just a thought…. 😉
