How do you quickly and easily install and set up WordPress so you can start adding posts for your blog?

In this video I show you everything you need to know to go from start to finish in installing WordPress for your business.

This is an updated video for the end of 2020 and will cover the domain and hosting parts as well.

So let’s go through these in steps.

⭐ Step 1: Sign up for a hosting account (using A2 Hosting here)

The first thing we have to do to install WordPress is sign up for a hosting account.

I am using A2 Hosting in this example because I learned that this website allows for a very quick and easy experience for you when it comes to installing WordPress.

In order to install WordPress we will need to buy hosting and a domain name, and A2 Hosting allows us to do all of that in one go.

So head over to A2 Hosting through my affiliate link here unless you are using another hosting provider:

👉 A2 Hosting signup: https://go.ivanmana.com/a2hosting

Click on “WordPress Hosting” and then “Get Started” and just fill in the blanks to get your hosting and domain going.

First you have enter your domain name, so pick something in line with your niche/topic.

My website is amarketingessentials.com for example because I talk about affiliate marketing basics – what’s your topic on?

After you do that, click on enter and just check the price. Select the 1-month plan if you are just starting out and not sure if you want to commit yet.

The only thing you do have to select is the installation at the bottom – just make sure you either install WordPress, or WordPress – A2 Optimized. Either is completely fine.

Go to the next page and also I would strongly suggest that you pay for the ID protection. If you don’t, you will get countless of phone calls and emails asking if you want someone to build out your site for you… trust me, these messages get ANNOYING and the level of professionalism is NOT high.

Keep going and then just pay – enter your card details, your billing information, and so on.

After you do all that, just click on “Continue” and that’s pretty much it for this step – A2 Hosting will start installing WordPress for you, so give it a few minutes after you enter all of this information and then come back in a few minutes for step 2!

⭐ Step 2: Enable the security certificate for your website

Now that you installed WordPress, everything should be fine and dandy, except for the fact that your new domain might not have propagated across the web yet (means it’s not available to the public just yet). It should propagate in another 5-10 minutes, but when it does, you can access your cPanel from the left-hand side of your A2 Hosting, type in “SSL” into the search bar, and select the “SSL/TLS Status” option.

Then just click on “Run Auto SSL” or some variation of that and wait for the process to clear.

Give it a few minutes, and once that’s done, your domain should be secure and now accessible!

Let’s move on to step 3.

⭐ Step 3: Log into your WordPress dashboard

At this point you should have everything you need.

Now we will just be logging into our WordPress dashboard and I’ll show you where to add new posts and pages, and so on.

So, head back into your cPanel, and type in “WordPress”.

Select the first option you see, but then click on the button on the top-left, and select “WordPress – A2 Optimized” instead.

From here, you should be able to click on the little person icon at the bottom of the page to log into your WordPress dashboard.

The first thing I would suggest you do is just check out the settings tab.

Here you can change the date format, the way your posts will be published (what URLs will show), and so on.

The biggest thing to pay attention to is when you click on settings and go to “Reading”. Here, make sure that the Search Engine Visibility checkbox is set to off, meaning your site WILL be indexed by Google and available to the public. However if you aren’t ready yet, just uncheck this box until you make your website more presentable.

Another thing to pay attention to is when you click on “Permalinks”.

Just select the way you want your posts to be published. Ie. what format do you want the URL to be – ending in the date, or the name of the post? I would probably go with just the name of the post to keep it cleaner.

But aside from that, that’s pretty much it! If you want to change your password to log into the WordPress admin area, head over to “Users”, select your username, scroll to the bottom and click on “Generate New Password”. Other than that, congratulations! You just created your first WordPress site.

That’s it!

  1. So, if you promoting few different offers you can just keep creating a "New Page" for each landingpage? What is the best solution for building multiple landingpages from one domain?
