great information 👍
I've had a 30-35% downturn in traffic over the last 1.5 months (since mid September). New posts, understanding why my main articles aren't doing as well as they used to (I'd removed some key terms during an update to it), better deep linking, updating older content, and even more new content seems to have stemmed the bleeding… I've also started one more site to "hopefully" add some more meat to my potatoes.
Nice video. All these points are valid, and I'll be incorporating some of it in my upcoming content.
Click what link to watch the next video? This is pretty unclear, it's like they left out the most important portion? What is the takeaway or message here?
After a year and a half, I am finally getting consistent traffic. I’m earning almost nothing still, but at least there is growth. When is it safe to start a new site? I’m bored with this one, not because I’m out of ideas, but I’m no longer in the profession (teaching) and now feel disconnected from the content.
Very interested in the next video for this since my website has followed a very similar path increasing traffic for the first 10 months followed by 4 months of stagnation and then a drop in traffic in the last couple of weeks.
soon, only the websites the government allows will get traffic.
the internet is quickly becoming a place where free information is no longer allowed.
I'm late to the party. Is it still a good time to try and create a blog from scratch? Or are there better options, such as YouTube?
My traffic dropped almost 50%
Please make the video on October 19 update, I noticed a huge traffic drop please help me create the next video on on it kindly.
This video helped me to think about outsourcing as apparently one of my road block in my head was: if somebody writes a blogposts it has to be perfect and I just need to post it. Thanks for reminding me that it's ok to change it a little bit before posting! 🙏🏼
My site is also about 3 years old and, while it hasn't seemed to get hit too bad by the algo updates, it has just been pretty flat. I feel like I am fighting slight downturns with new content so that the result is my traffic stays about the same. Hoping for a breakthrough at some point where the new content actually grows the traffic. FYI, for me, nothing was there to click when you said "Premiere."
Could you cover Google's October 2022 update in your next videos? And how to recover from it?
It's a spam update that allegedly hit a lot of pure white hat websites. Many websites lost over 90% of organic traffic although they are of high quality.
Thanks for filling us in Ricky. Waiting for next video on a fix. 👍
Google just became hitler.
Too much emotional whatever. I stopped watching at 2:05. Just give me data, please.
I wonder what this update means for completely new websites.
I’ve been using all these strategies since I started blogging about 7 months ago. Still waiting for my traffic to increase. It’s about 700 page views still. I have about 63 articles because it takes me so long to write with original research/expert quotes included.
Consider that Google did an Income School method update. Google just wants you to work harder to make more content for them to put ads on so they make more money. Google's Ai isn't as smart as people think.
I’m in the same boat, my 19 months old website got hit by recent updates lost 30% of traffic (still in downward trend)😭
I think you are giving Google too much credit for knowing what they are doing. Even more quickly than it started sending traffic, this summer Google seems to have taken it all away. Just hours ago, however, it looks like Google picked up my main sitemap file again. Hopefully it was just a temporary glitch. We'll see in a couple weeks.
Or so we thought…bum, bum, BUM! 😁 Love it. I'm finally up to 7 whole articles on my site, partially thanks to you guys. 💪
I have been saying that Google is completely catering to big corporations and big main stream media websites, because they were getting thier asses handed to them from the normal guys and gals like you and me. The big guys couldn't handle that and wouldn't handle it, so they cheated and ask Google to step in , in thier defense and Goggle started with thier off the cuff Algorithm changes. The mainstream media giants like CNN and MSNBC, among other were getting crushed my you and I. Now look at then? YouTube removed the dislike button on the request of mainstream media and they also requested a Algorithm change, a refresh if you will. The internet as we know it will never be fair anymore, not with all the dishonest chananagians going on with Google, Bing, Yahoo and others. Sure you could make a little money and make even more with affiliate offers, but nothing like in the past. What we need is a fair internet and a internet for the people by the people. So Google, you just go ahead and keep your bogus, dishonest internet that spreads true misinformation and lies. We will move on to something better. Come on Elon use your Superpowers. Take care. Hawk out!!
Good luck guys, that is pretty frustrating!
Is it possible to recover from the October spam update for a new site? I was getting 50 clicks a day and about 2,500 impressions a day. All down to 6 clicks and 500 impressions.
Should I just look at it as starting afresh? Or Google has blacklisted my URL?
A little thinner than I was hoping for, but hoping for a magic bullet to restore the 50% drop may be wishful thinking.
As an SEO consultant, I would need to look at the data pre your EAT efforts and after. I have also entered the affiliate market and why not use my SEO knowledge that makes my clients a lot of money, so time I used it on myself. If you are interested in talking about solutions I know (I work for space programs, fast food, e-commerce, health, hospitals and even book authors), so a wide span of success let me know if you want my email to start a chat
My website is relatively new, with very less organic traffic, and it has not decreased or increased, it is standing steady since a month now. Good to know these insight so we're prepared for worse if it comes!
Ricky why do you are not uses Table of content on the blog? any certain reason?
Can we use Al writer for articals ?
Makes me nostalgic. #bringjimback
Google is making it so hard to make money I am positive it’s going to back fire and people will stop their ads. Switching to affiliate ads. It is ridiculous now. Google can take their ads and shove it
Very curious to hear what your take on this is. Being in the food space myself, and after taking a look at this particular website, I'm wondering if maybe Google hasn't recognized enough EAT for the blog? Also I didn't see any recipe card/recipe plugin being used- just recipes written out in the text. Would that make a difference as well? I look forward to your insights!
