In this video, I show you exactly how to do just that along with some tips and tricks to help you save money, so follow along with me and you’ll be able to quickly and easily create your campaign as well.

Step 1 – Create your Facebook Ads account

To create your Facebook Ads account, you first have to create a personal Facebook account.

You can do that by simply going to https://facebook.com and creating an account there.

Once you are done with that, head over to the Facebook for Business site:

👉 Facebook for Business signup: https://business.facebook.com

And create an account here. It’s pretty straightforward, enter your business name, email, your name, and so on, and you’ll have your account up and running.

Then, just verify your email, enter your billing information and create a new account by selecting the “Ad account” tab.

Pretty straightforward and congratulations on creating your first Facebook Ads account!

Let’s move on to the next step of this Facebook Ads tutorial.

Step 2 – Create your Facebook page

Unlike Google or Bing ads, you do have to create a Facebook page to promote here.

Simply click on the “Pages” tab and create a new page. It’s a pretty simple and straightforward process, so just select what you want to promote, enter a name for your page and then go in there and make it look nice – add images, banner, description, and so on.

I don’t go over this in detail in this video not to go off-topic, but if you want more information in detail on how to do this, check out my Facebook Ads course here:

Let’s move on the next step of this Facebook Ads tutorial in 2021.

Step 3 – Create your Facebook campaign

Once you create the ad account and the page, you’re ready to start promoting on Facebook Ads.

Click on “Ads Manager” at the top-left of your dashboard and you’ll be taken to your main Campaign dashboard.

From here on, click on “Create new campaign” and fill in the blanks, entering your daily or lifetime budget for the campaign, your campaign objective, and your campaign name.

Note: you will find the most value by selecting the Conversions campaign objective once you have some conversion data… to set up the pixel, follow this video as I explain it in great detail:

Step 4 – Ad set settings

Once you finish the campaign, you have to set up the ad set.

This is also where you can set the budget if you choose to do so, but mainly this is where you set your targeting – the device, gender, age, interest groups, audiences and so on.

When you are first starting out, you will likely not have any audiences or remarketing lists handy… so you will want to use “interest group” targeting, which means targeting people based on the pages they like on Facebook, their employers, behaviors, and so on.

Normally I would use the audience insights tool to get more information and do research on this, so take a look at this video to learn how you can do it too:

Once you are happy with your targeting options, let’s move on to the final step in this Facebook Ads tutorial for 2021.

Step 5 – Creating the ad

At last, the moment we’ve all been waiting for… creating the ad.

Again, you can simply go from top to bottom and fill in the blanks, entering the headline, description, ad text, website URL and image or video.

Once you fill the ad out the way you want it to, you can publish the campaign, and then preview it to see what it’s going to look like.

Don’t worry – the campaign will be under review while you preview it… you can also just go ahead and pause the campaign just in case while you make sure that it looks the way you want it to.

Then you can just duplicate ads and ad sets to test different variations.

And this is it for this Facebook Ads tutorial for beginners in 2021!

  1. Hi Ivan,

    Happy New year To You!

Just a quick message to say another top bit of content again!

Going LIVE with first FB Ads tomorrow on a BRAND NEW Project! Only thing the Dashboard has changed slightly since last year when creating the AD creative so looks slightly different to what you have in some sections… But still managed to get everything set up perfectly! 😉

  2. Hello

can you explain please in simple words :/ ??

Ive boosted my ad for a total budget of $4 for 4 days

    Messaging convo is 11

    Reach is 1621

    Cost per messaging is $0.27

How much am I going to pay in total ?? how do we calculate it ?

  3. I am just from watching the one you made in 2020 and i was lost lol..and i started finding 2021 ad here you come..hopefully i am not gonna lost again..greetings from Germany teacher

  4. Hi Ivan, thanks for the video. Question for you. How many ads do you run within an ad set if the ads feature different products that could be used by that same audience? I ask because it seems like FB puts most of the ad set budget behind the best performing ad from the onset, which then limits the exposure of the other ads (even though they are for different products). I know that I can create other ad sets for those other ads, but then if those ad sets have overlapping audiences with the first ad set, it pushes the cost of the ads up because they then compete for the same audience. What is your suggestion for avoiding this issue when you want to show different products to the same or similar audience?

  5. Hey, can this tutorial, or most of it, be applied for local small businesses as well? I mean, can I take some of these advice, other videos as well on this channel, to apply it to run ads for local busineess?

  6. Hey Ivan,
    I appreciate this!

Would you rather prefer facebook ads over google ads for promoting affiliate offers and why? 😎
Dou you have a comparison video concerning that topic on your Channel?

  7. I have watched a ton of YouTube video about Facebook ads but your Tutorial is the best ever, thank you for your insightful information, for your course, is it updated with the newest update of Facebook Ads?

  8. Hi first thanks for the amazing video, second in minute 28.40 I tried to choose link click on when you get charged but there is a lock 🔒 on the link click, I can’t choose it.
They are giving me only the option of choosing impressions, any idea how can I fix this?
    Thanks for your time

  9. Thanks for the video, mate. Just one thing to add – it is always worth trying different third-party services. For instance, LeadEnforce.com. They provide an opportunity to create custom audiences based on page followers and group members. You can't do it directly through Facebook which is sad since this feature is very useful. Check it out yourself.

  10. Hi man my question is not related to ads but I hope you have the answer. let's say I have 5 pages, and in those 5 pages I post same videos. can I monetize all my 5 pages with the same videos I am uploading in all of them if I pass the eligibility criteria?

  11. Thanks for this valuable content sir ❤️, but I have one doubt please help me out if possible 🙏 My questions is in buisness info "Business verification status" shows unverified. Is that necessary to get verified before running? I tried to verify also, but it is asking legal business details. Please give us some information about this 🙏 Am not running ad just because of this single doubt.

  12. Hello Ivan, Thank you for this video😀. At first I was confused and thought that I wouldn’t understand Facebook ads, but the way you explain stuff makes it easier for me to understand it. I just have one question, when I duplicate the ‘ad set’ will it still have the same limit (so let’s say I wanna spend 100 dollar on a Campaign max, does it change if I duplicate the ‘ad set’ let say 5-6 times)?

  13. Hi Ivan!

I know that when increasing the budget in facebook, you have to be really careful in it, like increasing the budget only 20% per day.

But how about with google ads, microsoft ads and native ads?

When you find a winning campaign in the last 3 platforms I mentioned, how would you approach scaling them?

Would it be okay just upping the budget drastically without worrying about a drop in performance?

Thank you in advance, Ivan! I know your answers are gonna be all I need!

  14. HEY Ivan
I found you through the suggested videos, First your videos are very informative and educative too. I just made a YouTube channel so I'm definitely doing my research. Thanks for all your help.. Please keep it up! I just subbed and I never regret the the day I turn on notification on your channel

  15. Hey Ivan, My question is regarding google ads. I am tight on budget, what do you think should I do, brand bidding or going with generic keywords ? In brand bidding chances are more for conversions but requires good amount of budget and you know about generic keywords. What's your say ???

  16. Appreciate this I’m literally gonna be making my Campaign in a few days and I’m making sure to do eco everything I can to assure how correct I’m doing this thank you
