The first sales funnel is a self liquidating offer funnel. It starts with an opt in page and the thank you page is an OTO or One Time Offer.
Since this has the opt in as the first goal it is more of a marketing funnel but it transitions to a sales funnel on the OTO page.
After the user checks-out for the special offer you present a one-click-upsell to increase the average customer value and lifetime value more.

Great help, Miles! I have a $2000 course (I promote it as $167/month) that I ultimately want my customers to buy. I have lower offers that I can build in to lead them to buy, but I'm wondering at what point do I jump in with the big offer… in funnel #1 to those who buy the 1-click upsell? And in funnel #3 is that one offer suitable for the course if they're retargeted from making other purchases?

Miles, how does this #2 approach work in comparison to your "older" $1 membership trial to a one time annual membership offer funnel? I know in your "older" funnel you went straight to the $1 trial and then upsell the one time annual membership offer. The funnel you share today is a bit different in that you are selling a small product (tripwire?) collecting their lead and then selling them on the membership via emails or retargeting FB ads. I hope this makes sense. Really curious to know what you think or your experience between the two different funnels. TIA UPDATE: haha… I stopped the video to write this comment and then when I went to click play button to view the rest you sort of provided the answer. If you have anything else to add that would be great otherwise thanks. I ask because even with your old funnel you provided a freemium lead generator (even if it was a VSL) and then an upsell to the $1 trial. So, thats not like you sent them directly to the trial from a FB ad. I'm not sure and trying to understand.
You're a great teacher. I'm a newly. I do have a couple of questions, if I want to do giveaways, how do I acquire items to give away. I wasn't quite sure about that. When someone is first starting the affiliate marketing journey, do you have recommendations for "honest" paid traffic and ads until your business is more established (financially).
