Love your stuff Joey. Thirteen percent link CTR on broad traffic is amazing. I'd be happy with a quarter of that. I'd love to know the offer, and I'd love to see the ad creative.
I've developed a bit of a system for testing out ad creatives. I'll set up a reach campaign in India with 50 – 100 ad sets and put one ad in each ad set and just run it for a few hours. I'll keep all the ad copy the same. All I'm doing is getting comparisons of CTR. I'll always put something relevant to the offer on the business page and gear it to India. CPMs are usually under $0.20, so it's a real cheap and fast exercise to find the image with the highest CTR. I just use a budget of AUS$1.50, but, like I said, I pause it after a few hours. And yes, it does transfer to the US. Cultural differences don't seem to play a part. Not with the verticals that I've used anyway.
Another good trick that I use for getting totally unique images is to go to You Tube and search for the niche, and then filter by "creative commons". I'll then run a clip that looks good and pause it at the image that I want and use the "screen snip" tool in windows to make the capture. You can be sure that the image is unique and will never show a duplicate with a Google image search.
