We’re going to learn how to make a WordPress website by following these steps below:
Step 1: Get a domain name
A domain name is your “home address” online. Pick a good one 🙂 I recommend a 2-word .com domain, but really it’s up to you.

Step 2: Getting Hosting
For WordPress websites, I recommend Siteground hosting. They’re recommended by WordPress, and I personally have used Siteground for years. They’re amongst the cheapest, and have great customer service and website load speed.

Step 3: Set up WordPress
In the video, I’ll show you how to set up WordPress on your new hosting, it only takes a second.
If you want to make a website fast, WordPress is one of the best platforms to use. It’s free, and it’s the most common platform, sort of an “industry standard”.
Step 4: Get a Theme (Template)
In the video, I will show you install a pre-made “Theme”. Theme just means a template for your WordPress Website. Once you install a Theme, you can then customize it.
Step 5: Last Step – Customize
In the video, I’ll show you how to now customize the Theme of your new WordPress Website.
Everything is extremely easy and drag-n-drop.

Hi Greg , i purchased sited ground via your link. I have a problem with the ssl cert it recommends that the htaaccess redirect option your specific setup with a warning. Is this necessary as the padlock is not showing.Cheers Greg.

PSA: don’t use themes that are unpopular or have little support, especially when beginning. I started with the Shapely theme and because there was so little support for it, I had no one to ask for help. I ended up switching to OceanWP and everything is running smoothly. Don’t try and be unique by choosing an unpopular theme, you can be unique in much better ways.
Does anyone know how to setup a system on mailchimp that will send unique coupon codes to new subscribers? I’m almost done building my site and I’m stuck here. Any help is much appreciated 👍
