Revealing My $200,000 Investment

I don't know anything about Pokemon but I remember frivolously trying to collect Magic the Gathering cards. I ended up just giving up hope on cards at an early age but I can understand the draw to such a thing from childhood if you had the money.

I had to add one more thing because, the more I've thought about it, the more I don't like the argument that the pure shadowless will be worth more than their 1st edition counterparts purely because there's fewer graded versions out there and/or people generally didn't preserve them as well as the 1st editions. I really feel like you got played into buying this set. I mean, for starters, everywhere you look the 1st editions sell for much more money. But secondly, if you apply that same logic to all Pokemon cards, you could argue that you should really be spending more money for PSA 10 UNLIMITED cards since nobody really took the time to preserve those! Those are actually, LITERALLY the rarest! More rare than the shadowless PSA 10 cards! But obviously, that wouldn't make sense since no one wants to spend top dollar on an unlimited. Plus, like I've already said in a previous comment, the PSA stats don't compromise the whole picture and in my, and most of the larger collecting community from what I've seen, do not believe SO much weight should be given to those numbers. It just really feels like this guy who sold them to you realized he F***Ed up by buying these in the first place and figured out a good narrative that he used to sell you on the idea these were somehow actually MORE valuable than their 1st edition counterparts, which is honestly absurd when you think about it. And as I've said, it's clearly evident when looking at sales data of 1st edition sets vs. shadowless Pokemon card sets. So anyway, I'll stop rambling. I really hope you're able to make a profit on these in the future. Which honestly, I'm positive you will as these cards are gonna appreciate in value over time regardless. I'm just of the belief you've over paid for this set and it'll take much longer to get the type of ROI on them than what you shouldn't been able to do. But anyway, good luck with them and your future collecting.

I hope your collection does well over time. Shadowless is more rare, but less popular than 1st edition, so that is why there is a price difference.

So the seller knows that some of those single cards are worth 50K to100k each and then proceeds sales the whole lot for 200k? Da fuq! Did I miss something? Is he in the business of losing money, or did Andrei pay waaaay more then 200k? I'm so confused by the math here…🤔
