We just entered Soviet Russia bear market, which is when the stock market experiences a loss of 20% or greater. It was a historic week, the biggest drops since the the black Monday crash of 1987 which SINGLE HANDEDLY, moved us into some of the biggest days of losses of all time.
Last week we lost 9.99% which marks the 4th WORST day of stock market losses in HISTORY dating as far back as 1899. At the same time, that week also put us at #12 for the WORST stock market drop at 7.79%… this all happened within 3 days of each other. ]]
And because of that, there are so many people that are selling off their stocks, going cash heavy and saying to themselves “I’m going to wait this out, this is crazy, let’s wait until everything cools off”. That sounds like a REALLY reasonable strategy right? Except… if you had done that, you would have missed the huge upward move of almost 10% – the biggest move upward since 2008.

Hey Andrei! Not sure if you see this but i have a question. So im assuming that there are some overlaps between your individual stocks and those top 50 companies included in SPHD. MY question is: 1. How do you add this to your spreadsheet? Do you just add a new row named as sphd or do you add those overlaps to their existing corresponding rows?
2. You said dont go over 10% on any single company and not more than 15% on any single sector. Now if you buy SPHD, do you keep track of how much you added to those overlapping companies to see are you still in range or just treat SPHD as its own separate "company" and kep that whole SPHD under 10% ?

well if you invest 100 dollars in banks in course of 30 years, each month, you will have 100k+ to cash out and 100$ you put in 30 years equals 36,000$, so you will probably quadruple you investment, and have a nice car and everything 😉 or at least do it for your kids, you can still take later your share for yourself or half of it, and allow your kids to live worry free for a while

Привет Андрей) Actually your idea about retirement in another country is not a bad idea, but I'm not sure that Russia is a good place for that. I mean, it depends on the person of course, but I lived in Russia and I know a lot of disadvantages like medicine which can be critical for the old person. That's why usually rich people in Russia go to European medical centers. Also, level of life. If its countryside, most probably you face drunk and not so smart people every day and usually small towns are dying in Russia. If we are talking about bigger cities, crime situations can be also critical factors. I know that somewhere in Galveston(Texas) you can find the problems on the street also..but just my feeling that in Russia, the risk is higher.
Right now I live in Germany and I like it, but even if I have enough money for my early non-official retirement, I have to pay a lot of money(I think about 900 euro) for general medical insurance and a twice less for a private one. But it still a lot if you need to live somewhere at the same time and eat something) So, for more or less comfort live I suppose I need 2000 euro per month (one-room apartment + insurances + food + cheap entertainments), but in case of Germany you surround yourself with a more or less good level of life.
