Not getting any impressions on your Google or Microsoft Ads even though they are approved?
This can be an incredibly frustrating feeling and in this video I’m going to go over the 5 possible reasons why your ad may be approved but you’re still seeing 0 impressions.
Table of contents:
0:00 – Introduction
0:20 – Reason #1
1:41 – Reason #2
2:28 – Reason #3
3:45 – Reason #4
5:36 – Reason #5
Let’s start with the first reason for why you’re getting 0 impressions on your Google or Microsoft Ads.
Reason #1: Your keywords are too long-tail
Long-tail keywords are great – they are keywords with strings of 3+ words that laser-target your audience. For example rather than using the keyword “lose weight”, you can get more specific and target “lose belly fat”.
The issue with this is if you start using keywords that are TOO long-tail to the point that there simply isn’t enough search volume for them.
Always use the keyword planner to check the estimated search volume of any given keywords, and try to strike a balance between highly-targeted long-tail keywords and super long-tail keywords that no one is searching for.
For example the keyword “lose belly fat without exercising” is long-tail and has some search volume, whereas the keyword “lose belly fat today without exercising” doesn’t have any search volume.
Reason #2: Your keywords are too restrictive
Just like reason #1, restrictive keywords are good, ie. exact or phrase match types. They allow you to be more specific with who you want to target.
The issue again arises that the search volume for exact match keywords is much lower than for broad or phrase – so use exact only after doing proper research and knowing that there is search volume for the specific keywords.
For example [lose belly fat] is a great exact match keyword, but it’ll get far less impressions than: lose belly fat as a broad match keyword.
Let’s move on to reason #3 for why you might be getting 0 impressions on your Google or Microsoft Ads.
Reason #3: You don’t have enough keywords
This generally goes in conjunction with the previous 2 reasons.
Meaning if you only have 1 exact long-tail keyword… you’re not likely to gain any impressions.
So if you do decide to go with long-tail exact match keywords, make sure to add many of them so that the low search volume for each individual keyword is offset by the number of keywords that you have.
For example you have more chances of gaining impressions and clicks with 3 weight-loss related keywords such as [lose belly fat], [lose stomach fat], and [remove belly fat] than you would with a single keyword [lose belly fat] for example.
Reason #4: Your bid (and budget) is too low
I’m assuming your budget isn’t $1 a day or something super low like that… because then it’s quite obvious why you’re not getting many impressions.
So it’s possible that you’re getting 0 impressions simply because you’re not willing to pay enough per click.
Just because you see the Google/Microsoft Ads keyword planners give you a CPC number, or because you see others pay a certain amount per click, does NOT mean that this is how much you will be paying.
The keyword planners generally give you ballpark estimates of costs per click, not exact numbers.
And if you see others paying a certain amount per click, then if you start adding the same keywords they are, the cost per click will naturally go up.
So my advice would be to start with a low bid, and if you’re not seeing the number of clicks or impressions that you would like, then up the bid.
Reason #5: Your campaign or account is under review
It’s normal for new campaigns/ads to go under review.
It’s also normal for new accounts to go under review.
But if you find that your account is not new, and your campaign is approved, then it’s likely that your entire account is under review.
Glance through the other 4 reasons mentioned before and see if any apply to you. If not, then contact support and ask them “is my account under review?”.
If yes, then don’t do anything and wait for the review to be over. Only then make the changes based on the previous 4 reasons.
If your account isn’t under review, then you should go through the other 4 reasons and work on them.
And these are the 5 reasons for why you might be getting 0 impressions for your Google/Microsoft Ads!

Is a hours enough for google to update? I did increase cpc budget but no different
I usually set my goal as Sale / Or Leads and Set my Campaign to Conversions with out setting a CPC…So technically Google is in control of the CPC, but it only seems to get stuck on specific targeting method like Retarget my YouTube viewers which is very high, or Specific YouTube Placements {over 1K Placements } and my website viewers which is moderately high {500 to 2k}. The minute I stick some keywords in it's all Dandy Google magically finds impressions…. But it's very hard to get specific with keywords. You have to wade true the bullshit to find a little nugget here and there … sometime you never find those nuggets….
I am using several Exact match keywords which are 2-3 words & I have set the bidding as Maximize Conversion in Google but no impressions since last 4 days & my account is not under review…
Google is showing me this below since last 4 days :
"Good news! Your ads have been approved
Your ads are now eligible to start running. Once your ads get impressions, you'll see your results here.
Campaign submitted
Ads approved
Ads are eligible to show to customers
Results will be available soon"
And this is a high gravity Clickbank product so the issue is not with the searches and I'm using 2-3 words Review keywords which I took from the Keyword Planner itself…I am worrying to contact Google as this account was not suspended but it's under the same MCC account so If I contact them, they may link it with the previous suspended accounts…The bid is also not the issue as I have allowed Google to use Maximize conversions & I have kept high daily budget too…Not sure what's going on…In Bing also, I am getting very few impressions but no clicks even though my ads are ranking at the top mostly in Canada, England & Australia & is fully relevant to the search term…
I am targeting females but excluded smartphones because many people told me that, from mobile too many clicks come but very less sales but from desktop, it takes mostly 3-4 clicks to get a sale…So, I am not sure if this is happening because I excluded the mobile & tablet traffic or not & females mostly use smartphones to come online…
Another reason for no impressions or no data at all, could be the date range of your Google Ad.
Mine was set to the same day i started the ad, but if you move the date range to something like a day before you started it, and the day your checking it. It should populate it with the data.
Learned this after signing in on the Mobile app of Google Ads. The app automatically sets the date range, but seems like the desktop version does not
I would have never known my ads were showing.
You had me at 50 cents😂
Love your videos.

My ads keep getting rejected by google. Unbounce landing page, clickbank link without redirects. And it says malicious software and circumventing systems. Trying to get through for a couple of weeks already… Did you face the same issue as well?

My question if weight loss in ad copy then ad copy not approved
50 cents 🤣😂
Ivan, I am a bit skeptical to promote on Google Ads, as I heard that they love banning accounts, and once you get banned, you are screwed for life. , so I don't know which kind of offers on Clickbank is google friendly or what offers to start with to increase the account trust if there is such a thing. Could you share some insights on this?
Ivan mana Skillshare deactivated my account I don't know why I was using free trial. Will they take out money after 2 months??? Of trial pls help😭😭

Great content Ivan. Can you make a video about negative keywords and how do you manage them on different ad groups
Hey Ivan, another great video! I have a question about campaign reviews. I’ve started my first weight loss campaign on Bing about a week ago. I’ve noticed that any time I make any keyword bid changes (even if it’s just one keyword) and the entire campaign will immediately stop serving impressions, then like clock work start serving impressions 24 hrs later. It’s happened 3 times this week, and I’ve never had this happen before with any Bing (or google) campaign. I was worried at first, but now I’m pretty sure the campaign is just getting rereviewed each time and 24 hours later it’s good. My question is, is this normal in certain niches? I even have a diabetes campaign that gets rereviewed in a few hours, but the weight loss stuff… nope! It’s just getting annoying making a keyword bid adjust, adgroup tweak, ad copy update, etc and cutting off traffic from the campaign for 24 hrs.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve been dealing with, thanks again for the killer content!
Hi Ivan, great video again, my question if you could pleaseeeeee answer,
I am getting clicks on certain keywords which is good news and a good CTR, but my TOP Impression Rate is quite low, how could I scale these certain keywords to get higher in the ranking? Or do I just improve my bid on them certain keywords? thanks
What about getting impressions without converting can you talk about that? I have had youtube ads on google running with the status eligible and of course not converting. Google ads can be so stressful sometimes. Not approved, but running, so confusing
I payed 15 € for my 75€ Bonus. Yesterday i got 0 clicks and he told me i have no display group. Today i logged in and i got a warning my account is paused and i need to fill up money but my billing says i have 60 € left. I don´t get the problem.
Great content Ivan!
I've fixed this issue by creating a new campaign and increasing my bid significantly.
Thank you for everything 🙂
I think another reason could be negative keywords
Hey bro, I have a question, can i start a google ads campaign with a website that is not mine (like amazon or youtube for example) ?
Thanks Ivan for the video
Thank You Bro ! You do a great Job
amazing!! thanks! for this 😀
thanks for the info mate! I have a question since they are removing the broad modified option what would you recommend to use? it seems exact match seem to get less impressions with my campaigns.
Thanks buddy, you replied back to my comment with this..
