How Much Money YouTube Pays Me (1 Million vs. 24k Subscribers)

I was amazed when I saw the revenue generated from my first day with monetization on this channel. After years of making YouTube videos full-time, the CPM from this channel far surpasses that of my main channel.

In this video, I break down how much in ad revenue both of my YouTube channels earn. At the time of recording, my main channel, Mango Street, has over 1 million subscribers and this channel had around 24,000.

My main channel on photography:

I show you how much Mango Street earned our first year on YouTube, when we hit 500,000 subscribers in the first 12 months. I also show you total lifetime earnings for Mango Street and then we head on over to this channel’s revenue analytics.

The bottom line is advertisers pay more to run their ads on the videos related to personal finance and money than the do on something like photography. It seems most advertisers are selling digital products like courses, which likely have close to 95% profit margins. Since they are generally offering education related to making money, they can charge the customer more for access and therefore spend more on advertising.

I also show you how brand deals work for YouTubers. For a 45-60 second shoutout, a $20-40 CPM is pretty standard. This means if you as a Youtuber generate 100,000 views on average, the advertiser would pay you between $2,000 and $4,000 for a shoutout. This number multiplies when you move from a quick shoutout to a full-on integrated or dedicated video. Numbers range pretty drastically here, but Youtubers could earn anywhere from 3-20x the shoutout amount for a dedicated video.

  1. Revenue per "Mille"…(sounds like mill (like lumber "mill")
i.e. the French word for "Thousand"
    🤷🏻‍♂️
    Don't hate me, please. 🥺
    ❤️❤️❤️

  2. Yo Daniel what’s up. Love your videos. About to start my social media/YouTube journey and I was wondering kid you can help me out with a few things.

    1. What camera do you use for such good clarity.

    2. What’s the best software for creating videos this good.

    3. Do you recommend a yetti mic?

  3. No wonder people utilize patreon so much, even if you don't earn as much from large channel as you would hope, the audience and supporters it provides are the real key, and patreon allows creators to tap into that audience in a much more focused way

  4. Yup. I work in a completely different field of food. I saw the meme, "What is Bidens plan regarding food bloggers who put exhaustive, vague stories before getting to the recipe?"
Its the ads. The longer the you scroll down, the more you have to fast view before you get to the recipe. As a content maker I hate it..but after looking at viable options to keep a digital medium simply viable (not even sustainable) it becomes obvious..you just aren't talling pennies up fast enough to pay for basic costs without mid content ad placements…regardless of whether it is static or video content.

  5. Please speak slower! I’m not a native English speaker, but I like your channel’ content. The density of useful information and its complexity + the spread of your speech makes it impossible to understand , at least for me :(((

  6. Wow, I've seen videos before were youtube's show how much they make but I think this is actually more useful and interesting since you breakdown the comparison super easily about the different niches! I was planning on making a YouTube channel but have been thinking about if it would be better to make two for the different content I am interested in making or just one. I wonder how that impact's a channels CPM if two different niches are in one channel?

  7. guys, hit up cashflukes on telegram for dumps with pins, credit cards, bins, methods, bank logs, guns and all dark web stuffs, have been dealing with him for weeks now ,very fast and reliable
He is the real plug, legit 💯
