  1. I just signed up for P24 the other day! I started with the blogging course, but I already do both blogging and Youtube. The course so far is fantastic, very well done, and already worth the price. Can't wait to continue! 😁

  2. I've been waiting to start a blog. As someone who is absolutely obsessed with writing, producing music, and helping people… this might make me start today haha. Binge watching all of the content and takin notes first ✏<33

  3. Hi Ricky,
I just make a blog that starts 4 month ago. Currently have 75 blogpost. The niche is parenting.
Related about Y.M.Y.L, is it good for me to continue the blog? Or pivot to other niche? Honestly I already spent (invest) some money here. Thanks..

  4. I have a question about getting into one of the tough niches you're talking about. I recently lost a lot of weight, and I would like to do a blog about my experience to help others. maybe down the road I'll consider doing a YouTube channel but right now I want to do a blog. Should I consider it or go after a different niche?

  5. I make about $4,000 a year on YouTube and haven't touched it in maybe a year. I get $300 a month from blogging, and growing. I really want to YouTube again, it was fun. I found that running 2 blogs and 2 YouTube channels at once was too much, so I dropped the videos and am focusing on one blog. When I can back off from my day job, I'll be youtubing again.

  6. Thank you. I like doing both videos and blogs but I have not been able to make anywhere close to a living in either one. Mi blog can go for months with out selling a single item even if I get views daily and I never been able to reach the monetization goals for YouTube but enjoy making the content. But I am not a quitter so I will keep on learning from the best. Note: I don't post videos on this account I have another account for that.

  7. You did not mention that ad revenue on blogs is 10x or more per 1000 views than YouTube. You need SERIOUS traffic to make that money. Also, Nate hit on it at the end, NO BREAKS ON YT! You gotta constantly put stuff out.

  8. I do both thanks to watching both Ricky and Nate. What I find amusing is when google ranks my YT video #1 in search but my article with the same content still hasn't ranked at all, lol.

  9. What a helpful and entertaining comparison! I started with both. Nonetheless, I would add the artistic aspect of editing a video (picking compelling b-rolls, transitions, composing the scene, and so on) compared to the rationality required to structure a good blog post. Each person should ask himself if he is more creative or rational when deciding on the platform.

  10. My preference is for a "recorded" and not for a "live" experience. Therefore, I prefer blogging. I need multiple passes for my articles. Even when I did training (a 2 hour software training) I had most of the training my head. I could do extra "chapters" if required but most of my material was the same. The more tired I was the faster I did the training.

  11. Blogging and YouTube are two completely different beasts. Telling your students to go after YouTube is ridiculous, if they really wanna do YouTube they'd take a course from ali abdaal or another successful YouTuber. Not a little section at the end of your course, which was a lame attempt.

Stick with blogging advice and leave YouTube to the real YouTubers.

  12. I wanted to just do websites and have an outdoor channel for fun… I added a channel for my website, so I didn't need to send people to other people's channels. It turned out to be consuming, which is not what I wanted. Since I own the items I write about I am hoping to gain EAT, but Google keeps killing me at every turn… I am hoping to get monetized at some point, I need 100 subs to qualify.

  13. Great subject! I do both.
You missed the BIGGEST PRO for Blogging! That is you can UPDATE CONTENT! I make a video on a game for example and it takes off, and they change how it works. I then create a new video to show the difference, but that video won't rank higher since I'm competing against a video of mine that is already doing amazing. Whereas with a blog, you can just update the post.

10:28 This isn't completely correct. It really depends on how you create your YouTube channel. You can target SEO on YouTube (I used Mourning Fame) and get your stuff ranking. I have one channel that gets 4,000 views a day from multiple videos and I haven't touched it in a year.

I do like the format of this video, was nice and to the point. I do have to say the two are so different and when you get mad at one, you can do the other till you calm down (Google core update).
